Our Wooden Birth Comb is a simple yet powerful labour support tool designed to help encourage focus, grounding, and comfort during contractions. Made from smooth natural wood and engraved with the affirmation “It’s not pain, it’s strength”, it serves as a gentle reminder of your inner strength throughout birth.
By squeezing the comb in your hand during labour, the teeth apply pressure to acupressure points in the palm, helping redirect focus and support natural pain-management techniques.
Each comb includes a convenient wrist strap and a pouch for easy storage in your birth bag.

Use during labour as a pain management technique.
By gripping the comb firmly with the teeth pressed into the palm of your hand, it provides a strong sensory input that can help reduce the perception of pain through the gate control theory.
Many people also find that:
- It provides a point of focus during contractions
- It encourages active breathing and concentration
- It gives them a sense of control during labour
- It's small, portable, and easy to use in any birthing position
How To Use
How To Use
- Hold the comb with the teeth facing into your palm.
- Position the teeth so they press into the fleshy part of your palm, just below your fingers.
- Grip the comb firmly as a contraction begins. Apply as much pressure as feels helpful. The intensity is personal, so adjust your grip to suit your comfort.
- Release your grip between contractions to allow your hand to relax.
- Continue throughout labour, switching hands if one becomes tired.
