ABOUT LOUISE HUG

Meet Louise Hug

Compassionate care. Trusted expertise.

Welcome to Hug Pelvic Health. My name is Louise Hug, and I am an APA Titled Pelvic Health and Continence Physiotherapist with over a decade of physiotherapy experience and a Master’s degree in Continence and Pelvic Health.

After the birth of my daughter in 2017, I developed a special interest in pelvic health, particularly the musculoskeletal system and bladder and bowel dysfunction of the pelvis. I went on to complete further training in Pilates instruction, women’s and men’s urinary incontinence, real-time ultrasound, anorectal dysfunction, and perinatal care. This sparked a passion for supporting people of all ages with bladder, bowel, pelvic floor, and sexual health concerns. The birth of my son in 2020 only strengthened my commitment to this field.

After spending seven years working in musculoskeletal physiotherapy, I transitioned into more specialised roles within a pelvic health clinic and a urology practice. During this time, I gained extensive experience managing a broad range of urological and pelvic health conditions, from pre-operative education through to post-operative prostate surgery rehabilitation, alongside the treatment of complex bladder, bowel, pelvic pain, and sexual health concerns.

In August 2024, I proudly opened Hug Pelvic Physio, a private practice based within the collaborative medical centre of Perth Reconstructive Urology in Palmyra. Working alongside leading urologists and other healthcare professionals allows me to provide comprehensive, evidence-based care for patients experiencing concerns such as prostate cancer recovery, urinary dysfunction, pelvic organ prolapse, stress urinary incontinence, pregnancy-related pelvic girdle pain, postpartum recovery, sexual dysfunction, and pelvic pain.

In October 2024, I launched the Hug Pelvic Health Store, an online destination for physiotherapy-recommended pelvic health products. This initiative reflects my commitment to making trusted, evidence-informed products more accessible to individuals navigating pelvic health concerns. I have also developed my own range of pelvic health products, including the Peri Flow Dilator Set, the Perineal Massage Egg, and Peri Balm—a natural, nourishing balm designed to support intimate tissue health and comfort.

I remain committed to lifelong learning and professional development, regularly undertaking advanced training and collaborating with healthcare professionals across Australia and internationally. My approach is holistic, compassionate, and patient-centred, recognising the important connection between physical health, wellbeing, and quality of life. My goal is to help every patient feel heard, supported, and empowered throughout their pelvic health journey.

I look forward to welcoming you in clinic.
